The project, ‘Water Gate’ is a unique piece of work recently completed by MAARAA in the North Central Province, Sri Lanka. On the one hand, it is a modern architectural intervention in a quiet rural context that gave a new perspective to the existing socio-cultural setup. On the other hand, it is an example of the successful realization of architects’ vision, overcoming continuous, multiple, and most importantly unforeseeable economic, cultural, and technical challenges.
